RC paraglider Libra 3.7 RS

Some ideas arise from a deep desire to create something special. Our goal wasn't to quickly launch another glider— but rather to " create a milestone in gliding performance."

Why we developed Libra 3.7

The Libra 3.7 RS isn't just a new RC paraglider. It's the result of dissatisfaction with what was previously possible in this class and category. Too much drag. Too little glide. Too little genuine and realistic feeling of flight.

We wanted to find out what happens when you break with the norm. When you rethink a model from the ground up – with the goal of bringing the glide performance to where we believe it belongs for such a device: out of compromise and into cross-country flying.

The Libra 3.7 RS isn't just about climbing well in thermals. It's about flying really long and getting far – at trim speed and especially when accelerating. This is precisely where many wings lose their substance: They might climb well when the air is already good, but collapse in glide, making you barely make any progress.

The Libra does things differently. It maintains its glide ratio even when it matters most—when it's time to cover distance, work against the wind, or venture into more distant areas of the airfield to target thermals.

Because true thermal flying with an RC paraglider means more than just circling in the thermals. It's about reading the air, flying quickly and efficiently through downdrafts, finding new thermals – perhaps 300 meters further away, and approaching new stall edges – perhaps at the very other end of the airfield. Anyone who wants to experience this needs more than just good climb. They need a wing that follows. One that carries them – not just upwards, but also forwards.

The result isn't spectacular flying. It's logical. Coherent. And incredibly efficient. The Libra carries far, descends flat, and responds directly – without seeming hectic. From the very first minute, a familiar feeling emerges. Everything fits together. The wing does what it's supposed to – and sometimes a little more.

No showmanship, no gimmicks. Instead: clean aerodynamics, a well-thought-out profile, a calm fundamental character. Plus, handling that lets you breathe – for thermals, for cross-country, for that moment when you realize: This isn't just a model. This is real gliding.

Target group

The Libra 3.7 RS is a paraglider for those who aren't satisfied with the familiar. Designed for experienced pilots who know what they're doing – and who want to experience what's truly possible in RC paragliding. Those seeking the perfect balance of efficiency, control, and glide performance will find a new dimension here.

In calm air, it also delights casual and experienced pilots with its stable flight characteristics, high passive safety, and precise control, allowing them to push themselves beyond their limits. It offers the potential for personal development.
Its realistic flight pattern, precisely tuned canopy and honest steering characteristics make the Libra a wing that delivers performance – noticeable, usable and at the same time easy to control.

This RC paraglider features an advanced profile design, which provides optimal aerodynamics and improved flight characteristics. This construction allows the RC paraglider to excel even in challenging flight conditions.

Where does this enormous performance come from and how did we achieve it?

The performance of an RC paraglider is not determined solely by its profile or airfoil. The wing's internal structure is crucial. This is especially evident in turbulent air – where thermal influences and turbulence exert strong forces on the entire canopy. This is precisely when a fabric wing can deform unintentionally, significantly impairing aerodynamic efficiency.

28 meters of Nitinol

That's why the wing's internal structure is just as important as the airfoil itself. On the Libra 3.7 RS, it was specifically engineered to be stiff where stability and shape retention are critical, without negatively impacting handling, while remaining flexible where controlled flex improves handling and passive safety without sacrificing performance. This was achieved by the targeted application of Nitinol—primarily along the airfoil's top surface, where power is generated, in places up to 90°.% of the tread depth. A total of 28 meters of the shape memory alloy Nitinol were used.
This fine balance of targeted stiffening and sophisticated compliance ensures progressive stability behavior and is the key to the real performance and passive stability that sets the Libra apart.

What are our features? How did we implement them?
